Join us as Colorado Ballet Society's graduating class prepares to take their final bow in this season of their lives, please join us to celebrate their accomplishments, share memories, and send them on to their next stage and new adventure with many warm wishes, hugs, and memories!

Housekeeping Notes:

  • No stiletto heels since we will be celebrating on the Marley floor. (Suggested attire: summer dress, blouse with nice jeans, and dress shoes. Remember, it's neither game day nor a track meet!)
  • In the spirit of professionalism and kindness, please do not share memories with others that may embarrass or hurt our graduates. (Suggested topics: How has the dancer blessed you? What is a cherished memory? What will you miss most about her?)
  • Words are powerful, and memories are precious. In addition to or in lieu of a gift, consider writing a thoughtful note for your friend who is graduating; include a special memory or favorite photo! (Cards and gifts may be left at each dancer's display table for them to enjoy later!)

The Final Bow: Story

In 2023 the families of Colorado Ballet Society's graduating seniors hosted a celebration to honor their dancers as they took their "final bow" at the studio among faculty, family, and friends and a new tradition at CBS was born!

The Final Bow: History of the Bouquet

Giving flowers to a performer after a successful performance is a centuries-old tradition, made popular in Europe when audience members threw flowers onto the stage to honor and celebrate the performers as they took their final bow. Fun fact: Superstition also surrounds this floral tradition. Since flowers celebrate a successful performance, giving a bouquet or single bloom before the final curtain call was said to tempt fate for mishaps. While we may not be superstitious, we do love a time-honored tradition; thus, each of the Colorado Ballet Society seniors will receive a special bouquet from their family to honor their success!

The Autograph: What's the Pointe?

Another way we love to remember people and events is with signatures--after all, who doesn't enjoy the autograph of a favorite athlete or performer as a keepsake? Whether our dancers continue to perform on other stages across the globe or choose to pursue other passions, we treasure the unique stamp each one leaves within the memory of Colorado Ballet Society. Look for signed pointe shoes at the studio and remember the beautiful, talented, and unique dancers who persevered within the studio's walls!
